The cloth is synonymous with the garment, and we’ve had this latest batch woven for us in Italy by Thomas Mason, who’ve been producing cotton shirting since 1796.
The hills above Bergamo are to cotton weaving in Italy what Biella is to wool. Water and industrial power are key to production and this region has the best of both, with San Pellegrino just a stone’s throw away. Equidistant is the workshop that produces our OCBD shirts, with their deep ‘S’ roll collar, classic fit and iconic details. It’s the handwriting of the region that makes our shirts so popular, precise yet characterful and entirely made in Italy.
Balancing texture with stability and performance, the fabric is true to our ethos of sturdy cloth that can be worn with knitwear and denim, under a sports jacket or with a suit and tie. Hang it in the locker room, wear it to a wedding — this is our homage to the classic button down shirt, featuring a tall collar, placket, pocket, locker loop and box pleat. Cut on our house block, slim but not tight.
